RescueTag - Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 13, 2026

Important: Public Emergency Information

By design, your emergency profile is publicly accessible to anyone who scans your RescueTag. This is the core purpose of the service—to provide critical information to first responders and helpers during emergencies, even when you cannot communicate.

What this means for you:

  • Anyone with your tag's unique ID can view your emergency information
  • Your profile is accessible without authentication when viewed
  • Information includes name, photo, medical details, and emergency contacts

Security measures in place: Your profile ID is a randomly generated unique identifier that is practically impossible to guess. The system includes rate limiting and abuse prevention mechanisms to protect against unauthorized scanning or data harvesting. Only you can edit your profile (password-protected), and we implement industry-standard security practices to prevent unauthorized modifications.
